Priscilla's Pursuit of the Perfect Purple

Princess Priscilla Was a passionate connisuer of all things with color .gold made her rich from all that she had. Blue was her carriage and her private driver from bagdaddlehad.

Red was her hat all twelve in a row. And pink was her poodle who she affectionately called LoLo.

Yellow was her Daisies outside her castle Locke . Orange was her favorite new Sunday frock.

She was proud of her collection of colors. She had non like no other: Gold was her rings she did where in a row. She even had a fat one around her middle toe. She had everything a girl could want and wanting was the one thing she didn't want to want.

She was proud and said in a regal sort of way." I'm the queen of colors now I just need the perfect thrown to display." She said while visiting her uncle the king of Nauru . " My house just needs one more color then I'll be through."

She called on designers and painters and decorators galore. She looked and looked till she could look no more.

" I don't know what to do or where to start.?"

" There has to be a perfect color I will love a hold dear to my heart."

Each brought the finest colors throughout the land. Priscilla was pompous picky princess.

There was a line outside to the lemon aid stand.

Just then a man came. I he took his hat off

"I'm Gallius Fin?" He said with a lively grin. " Now come my lady, tells me what is troubling you now?"

prescilla percolated pompously.

" I have ever color there ever was. sat-ruse, lemon and mauve, gold, flax, teal, cobalt and garnet and grey, ochre and Sap, vermillion, pink and persimmon and mink." She continued,

" There has to be the most, fantastic, beautiful color. Wonder, rich and like no other."

Gallius Fin shifted his monocle and smoothed out his long curled mustache. He said with smile.

" Clearly you have every color under the sun snd every subtle hue and value and tint. But , Have my lady , you ever seen the color Mint. He brought a mint fabric.

Prescilla laughed,

" Oh, Gallius, I thought when my servents called you-you were a master of your craft."

Gallius Fin twitched his nose and click his heels. Pulled up his sleeves and loosened his purple tie." He brought of colors sage green, cornflour blue, buttercup yellow, and salmon pink hues. Prescilla frowned, hissed, and booed. Camel beige and ox blood. Pearl , sapphire blue and ruby red. He even added " This would even be lovely a the foot of your bed ." Priscilla moaned, yawned and groaned . Gallius Fin wasn't hitting the mark or even close.

" Gallius Fin she proclaimed. I've seen 100 peddlers to which I can't Remember one name." Huffing.

" I've seen yarn spinners and tailors and dress makers, haberdasher's and color masters non can suit me. Gallius Fin your the best in the land, you have the title of The grand master of fabrics in your hand. Now, Show me a color that will steal my very soul, and I will give you Gallius your weight in gold?"

" Madame nothing will please you that hold in my hand. I've almost shown you every color I can." She right then saw his purple scarf like a thunder landing apon her head.

" That's it the perfect color above all others. Oh, Gallius Fin, I knew your were a genius the minute you walk in."

Gallius looked at his scarf and said with grin. This is indeed the perfect color. It was made by weaver in the hills of calamendo dyed from thirty berries from the very rare plant of treshi in Salamaran. I'm afraid this color you won't find in all the land."

She stood and looked at its beauty it's color and grace. It wasn't to bold and not bright not even to dark, no it's was perfectly quite right from the start.

" I must have this color In my carriage and in my boat and in my house on my poodle LoLo and even my blouse. The rest of the colors will

Have to go, now, throw them all out! Make it so!"

Priscilla paid Gallius Fin for his sash; his weight in gold. He bowed and turned before left.

" My lady now heed my warning well, you will look high and low and near and far. You search for the perfect purple without success. I've only seen this color once on a gentlemens vest. It's a cursed color and soon you will see. It will obsessed your thoughts and boggle your dreams . You will lose your mind, your health and wealth all for the perfect color that's hides in stealth. Give up this purple pursuit I implore and take care to this warning and don't ignore.

Gallius Fin bowed again and walked out.

She waved him off, " Stupid fool, money can by me gold and jewels, I can buy any thing after all I bought you. " she laughed and

She held the sash and wore it with pride. She tossed all the colors out or hanging about. She threw out her jewelry and she throughout her hats and she tossed her blue carriages and pulled the yellow daisies out Lickety splat. She threw out her new clothes and her red silken throws. The tossed out her all the gold on her fingers and toes.

" Get out! get out, all the colors laying about."

" leave my thoughts in my head, I found the perfect color to place there stead."

She made the maids where the finest purple she could find. But deep down all the while knowing the seed of purple perfection was planted in her mind.

She search all the towns and kingdoms all around. She when through all the finest fabrics with gallius fin. He brought her 750 shades of purple and not one would win.

" I'll know it when I see let's start Mr. Fin!"

Gallius new she was now under the spell of the perfect purple he once wore so well."

Priscilla huff and puffed nothing seemed good enough,

" Two dark, two light, to much blue in that one, and this wasn't quite right."

" To bright, to bold, and this would make me looked to old."

" To mellow, to grim, these purple would make me look to thin."

" to blah, to drab to sunny to nervous, to sad, this one even makes me mad."

750 colors and not one match. Then she even had Gallius try to make his own color batch. She sent seekers out to ride over hills and country side looking for the Treshi berries 30 to be exacted. For the recipe call for the right amount of berries and spit from a yak."

She dreamed about the color and her thoughts pondered it's rich luxurious hue and tone the sheen from the fabric and she saw her self and stunning purple coat and gloves to match to.

She spend way to much her search she even hired the famous explorer Thomas Mckgurk. He sailed with a mast of purple bearing her

Crest. All for the price of his own treasure chest. He sailed to find the famous berries of Treshi in Salamaran. He search for five years lost his ship and his crew from a storm off the isle of Talimindoo. Only to bring a scrap of the cursed color and five fried Treshi berries.

" This is all you bring with all the gold at threw at your feet."

Gallius Fin approached the tormented queen of colors once again.

" I beg and plead with the queen of colors. You haven't taken my heed. A curse is upon that color just please, won't any other color do? Pick a beautiful Citron or turquoise blue?"

Priscilla face turned to vermillion red and she laughed at Gallius Fin and orderd to chop off his head.

Gallius looked at her and laughed.

" No my queen of colors, remember I'm the one to make a batch of the perfect purples color with the berries and spit of a Yak."

"Kill me and your quest will be done. Plus I'm friends with the king. Shall let him know of your little color fling?"

Priscilla thought and His argument had won. She kicked him out of her chamber and watched him run.

She ordered her guard to search his house to see if the color was hidden about. She dreamed of reams bolts of purple and the sublime hue hidden in his coiffures and hiding under his bed. The came back sadly reported that Gallius Fin had left in a state of dread.

" He went tell your Uncle the King of Neramu." The guard continued,

" He said your looney, and mad and you fired your driver from bagdaddlehad. Your obsessed, and possessed and even making your gaurd wear this purple mess. People walk by and laugh at this purple gate and talked constantly about the palace place. It's gaudy and ugly and state of wreck you lost your mind.

The queen of colors had change her hue. She sat of her velvet thrown all alone. She failed at having her wishes and desires filled . She was now no longer the queen of color but the queen ------She would steal, and sell her soul. To touch and take the color of perfect control.

A few days later the horns blasted and the Kings flag was raised. And all the crowd did praise the joyous return of the King on that day.

" Where Is the queen of colors" he said with a roar.

" I come to settle a score. You made my kingdom a laughing stock and a joke of the realm. Speak now lady what have you to say for yourself?"

" you've threatened my Taylor and threw out your colorful clothes, even the family jewels and who knows what else heaven knows?"

Right then Gallius Fin walked in twitching his monocle and his nose. He spoke.

" Oh, dearest Queen of colors you did not heed my tale of woe. The perfect purple has driven you mad and you lost your fortune as foretold. Your beauty as faded and the Kings treasure was waisted and now you will live your live colorless in white until you grow old.

The guards took her away to a mountain chalet in the winter hills of Salemendo. There she sat in chains of white and and a dress like the winter snow. No color allowed and not even jewels on her fingers or toes. She had white walls and white maidens and white floors and even white doors. She was prevented from seeing the sky and the once beautiful glowing skin was now painted white. She drank milk and ate white bitter chocolate with mashed potatoes white as can be. A boiled eggs without the yellow yoke. And white floured cake for Sunday treats and white nail polish for her hands and feet. Occasionally the king at Christmas would bring wine.

One particular day, I do believe it was early May. She had her maid sneak in a glass of wine. She drank from the glass and the very last drop went plop on her white silken top and she recognized its purple . Its glamorous glow, The regal tint. She had realized all that she spent. Gold, jewels all for the color of fools. She had her maids steal more wine and color her hair and dyed all of her clothes and even found a way to dye her hands and toes. She was now the color of fools. The perfect color tint and perfect hue. She was the queen of the perfect fools. She laughed and looked at her self in the mirror. She smiled and said while starting to drool.

" I told you Gallius Fin we was a fool,"

She laughed and danced and talked to servants and guards and decorators who were no figments of her mind . She curtsied and bowed pranced all while drinking Treshi wine. It was all right before her mad magesties mind. Gallius fin's tale did come as foretold. The curse of the pursuit of the perfect purple left her mentally ill, broke and old and not a dime in her coiffures. In the end everything went truly for the worst. Her castle of color and wealth all fell from the purple sash of one Gallius Fin, who knew all to well.

So beware perfection pursuing Priscilla's . Perfection is a pursuit that will dry up your well.

And where's Gallius Fin you may asked?

He's finishes these last words while wearing that color that made a kingdom crash. It wasn't the color or the hue or tint for the matter. It was pursuit and Priscilla's own greed that got in the way. Today I'm wearing that purple sash. My health is fine and my coiffures are full. So I beg and plead give up that greed that causing men to loose their souls. Give up your search ,for treasure and gold riches and fame. For the laws that abide from heaven up high will give you every wish and whim. By grateful and by wise and not let the dream of fools begin. Like Priscilla, perfection never wins.

The end
